Zoe Alcorn is a Clinical Neuropsychologist who offers assessment of cognitive and behavioural change in adults. In addition to private practice, she works in a tertiary public hospital setting, with a particular interest in dementia and the diagnostic clarification of atypical and complex presentations.

Zoe takes a thoughtful and compassionate approach to assessment, recognising that cognitive changes can be distressing and often occur in the context of uncertainty. She aims to provide clarity, understanding, and practical guidance for both patients and their families.

She has previously worked in inpatient and community rehabilitation services, as well as in a Memory Assessment Service. She completed her postgraduate training in neuropsychology at the University of Melbourne.

Services

Zoe offers assessments to:

Assist with the diagnosis of cognitive changes, clarifying their nature, cause, and trajectory
Characterise cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning in the context of a known neurological condition
Evaluate cognition pre- and post-neurosurgical intervention

Please note, Zoe is not currently accepting referrals for medico-legal purposes, ADHD or autism assessment, or those conducted solely for NDIS applications.

What to expect

Patients can expect:

An appointment that will include a clinical interview and, where indicated, formal cognitive assessment
Brief verbal feedback on findings
A timely, detailed written letter to the referring doctor with a diagnostic impression and recommendations for management
Optional follow-up appointment for more detailed feedback and discussion (additional fee)

Fees

$1020 for an assessment until June 30, 2026. No Medicare rebate applies.

Referrals

A referral from your doctor is required. Your doctor can help you to decide whether seeing a neuropsychologist would be helpful in your circumstances.

Reason for referral.
Background medical and psychological information relevant to the presenting cognitive difficulties.
Details of any previous neuroimaging (e.g. or MRI or PET) and neuropsychological assessment (if applicable).
